Dear Ozzie, you don’t speak English well yet – but you will. Keep listening to lots of music, lyrics and watch foreign movies, series and documentaries. It’s a fun way to learn. Maybe even try other languages like Chinese or Japanese. The world is smaller then you think. You will see a lot of it and meet many great people.

Life is pretty swell now, isn’t it? Building huts, kicking a ball, playing tennis, hanging out and exploring. Enjoy it as much as you can. Soon things get a bit more serious. However never stop asking questions and remain curious about the world, and the unknown. Don’t try to understand it all, sometimes it just doesn’t make sense. However do pay attention to what is important to you. I know you care about what others think – this is fine, but do look for what really matters to you. Test it, and play with it. Trust your instincts. When you find your passion follow it. You can’t be good at everything, so pick and choose.

I know you are sometimes disappointed of not being great at colouring within the lines and cutting paper straight – don’t worry, there is no rule to stay within the lines. Often crossing the line brings you further. But if you cross a line always do so with respect to the ones around you. Stay true to yourself and remain honest – you will feel good about yourself, and never have to remember a thing.

Now your body is a given, and you don’t think about it becoming older. And you don’t need to… yet. But do care for your body – it will be the temple that houses your soul for the rest of your exciting life. The stronger it is the further it can travel – and you will go across the world. During your journeys you will learn that things are not always what they seem. Don’t judge to fast, be open minded and kind. Everyone has something to give.

So now go out and play. Have fun and sometimes misbehave. A little. No one is perfect, neither are you – but as long as you do the right thing, right things will happen to you. Follow your instincts. ‘Just do it’ and ‘Nothing is impossible’ (yes, you heard it here first). And when you go, go 200% – no matter what others think or say. You have a fabulous life ahead of you.

Ps. Oh yeah, you will get bald from wearing caps, learning to speed type is not a stupid idea and indeed Johan Cruijff is and will remain one of the best football players in the world.
